Trinity Romance Shop is a socially responsible, community minded, health conscious retail outlet located in the small mountain town of Squamish, in between Vancouver, and Whistler. We are a small operation priding ourselves on the customer service that we give as well as the quality products that we sell. Due to lack of government regulations it has forced our industry to be self regulated in terms of healthy, non-toxic products that are available in the marketplace. We at Trinity pride ourselves in the lines that we distribute, and the manner in which our consumer is educated. Discretion and a comfortable, unique, informative atmosphere where consumers can explore their more intimate side are paramount in our approach to meet our customers needs.

Phthalate Definition

Phthalates (pronounced ``thal-eights'')- are the chemical softeners added to PVC toys to make them less rigid. The problem with these chemicals is that they can be toxic in certain quantities, and there is no regulatory body to monitor “safe levels” or appropriate “exposure time” with these products.

Trinity Romance Shop and Eric Armour

Hi, I'm Eric Armour I founded Trinity Romance Shop in 2004 at the age of 25. Drawing on a past of service and sales, and a passion for all things sexual I opened the high-end, woman friendly adult novelty boutique known as Trinity Romance Shop.

After months of learning the good, bad, and ugly of the sex toy industry I decided to create an atmosphere that was comfortable for women to explore their more intimate side in an open and honest way. While researching the industry one of the scariest things I learned was the prevalence of these nasty things called phthalates that existed in a large majority of toys. No government agencies were safely monitoring phthalate levels in toys, or the effects of exposure to them. The thought of having an unassuming populace in contact with chemicals that off-gas a plethora of toxins into any number of mucous membranes was too much to bear. With that in mind it became very clear, very quickly to be one of a handful of stores that sold strictly phthalate-free toys.

With some solid principals we opened in February of 2004 with a gorgeous space, barely any inventory, and a lot of heart. In the years that followed we’ve expanded, launched a home party division, and begun a web store. We’ve also contributed tens of thousands of dollars to our local women’s shelter, local mountain bike trails, and public art projects in our Downtown through fundraising and community building efforts, all the while building a sex-positive culture with a smart, sexy, and fun approach.
